Earthquake safety tips
When an earthquake strikes, follow these steps
Drop, Cover, and Hold On
Drop
Get down onto your hands and knees to prevent being knocked over
Cover
Take shelter under a sturdy table or desk to protect your head and neck
Hold On
Hold onto your shelter until the shaking stops. Be prepared to move with it if necessary
Stay Indoors
Avoid running outside during an earthquake. Stay away from doorways and windows
Car Safety
If you’re in a car, pull over, stop, and set your parking brake
Bed Safety
If you’re in bed, turn face-down and cover your head with a pillow
Outdoor Safety
Stay away from buildings and don’t go inside
Wheelchair Users
Lock your wheels and remain seated during the shaking
